Mujeeb Shad, MD

Dr. Shad, an accomplished psychiatrist and educator, has a diverse clinical and academic background. After graduating with an MBBS from Sind Medical College, University of Karachi, Pakistan, in 1983, Shad pursued internship and residency training in psychiatry, including notable roles as a two-year Fellowship in Psychopharmacology at the Psychiatric Research Institute, University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. After graduating, Dr. Shad received federal, industry-sponsored, and private research funding to conduct research studies in structural and functional neuroimaging, psychopharmacology, and pharmacogenetics. Dr. Shad has continually taught and supervised residents, medical students, and fellows throughout his academic career, during which he has published over 100 papers, reviews, case reports, case series, and CME reviews. In the past, Dr. Shad held various academic and clinical positions, from assistant professor roles at institutions such as the University of Texas Medical School in Houston to leadership roles like a professor of psychiatry and site residency director at the Oregon State Hospital. He has also served as a program director at Southern Illinois University, Springfield, Illinois, and currently serves as the Founding Psychiatry Residency Program Director for the Valley Health System GME in Las Vegas, NV. He also had academic affiliations with the University of Nevada Las Vegas and Touro University Nevada School of Osteopathic Medicine as an adjunct professor of psychiatry.
