Emmauelle Garcia-Rider, MD
Emmanuelle Garcia-Rider is the incoming Psychiatry Clerkship Director at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) School of Medicine. She is as close to being a native Nevadan as she can get without being one. She has been in Reno, Nevada since she was 6 months old. She attended UNR and majored in Chemistry and Political Science. After graduating she took the opportunity to take a break and experience what made Nevada famous and became a blackjack dealer. Despite the fun of winning for the house, medicine was calling. While at University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine she had the opportunity to attend the Betty Ford Substance Abuse Program to learn about addiction and became interested in psychiatry. Her passions are medical education, mental health advocacy, and striving to create a better environment for her 2-year-old Calvin and husband Evan.
