Rajesh Tampi, MD, MS, FAPA
Dr. Tampi is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine and the Director of Behavioral Health Services at Masonicare in Wallingford, Connecticut. He trained in Psychiatry at the University of Leeds, England and the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. During his residency training in England, he also attained a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry from the University in Leeds. He completed his Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT. He is a recipient of the Geriatric Academic Career Award (GACA) instituted by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). He has been a Principal Investigator (PI) on the trial of Valproate in Dementia (VALID) and a sub-investigator on various clinical trials at the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Unit (ADRU) of the Yale University School of Medicine. He has published over 50 articles in peer reviewed national and international journals on various topics in geriatric psychiatry. He serves on the editorial board of the World Journal of Psychiatry and Journal of Addiction Research and Treatments. He also serves as a reviewer for various peer reviewed national and international journals in psychiatry, including the American Journal of Psychiatry, American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, American Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease and other Dementias, International Psychogeriatrics, Drugs and Aging and Acta Neuropsychiatrica to name a few. He is the Editor-In-Chief of two psychiatric textbooks; Comprehensive Review of Psychiatry and Clinical Assessments in Psychiatry: Mastering Skills and Passing Exams. His research interests are in the treatments for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, behavioral disturbances in dementia and late life psychiatric disorders.
